World Embedded Software Contest was started in 2003 under the auspices of Korean Government in order to promote the embedded software industry in Korea and discover and foster talented persons in the embedded software area. As this competition had been well known in Korea, the junior division was newly started in 2008 and the international division was opened in 2009.
